Robert De Niro Shares Rare Photo With 10-Month-Old Daughter
Iconic actor Robert De Niro recently delighted fans by releasing a heartwarming photo of himself and his adorable 10-month-old daughter, Gia. The snapshot, acquired by Page Six, shows the 80-year-old “Goodfellas” star lovingly cradling the child on his lap while resting his cheek against her head.
In the picture, little Gia can be seen wearing a charming onesie adorned with musical squirrels and smiling joyfully. De Niro couldn’t contain his pride and affection for his daughter, describing her as a “cute baby” and “so sweet” in a recent interview with People.
Despite being in his golden years, De Niro also spoke about the unique dynamics in his family, especially becoming a father again at the age of 79. He revealed how Gia brings immense joy to everyone, including her older relatives, who are about to enter their teenage years.
Apart from Gia, whom he welcomed with partner Tiffany Chen in the spring of 2023, De Niro is a loving father to his other children — Drena, 56, Raphael, 47, twins Julian and Aaron, 28, Elliot, 25, and Helen, 12. He is also a proud grandfather to four grandchildren, including Drena’s late son, Leandro, who tragically passed away from an accidental overdose last year.
In a heartfelt interview with AARP, the Oscar-winning actor revealed the profound impact that Gia has had on his life. He expressed how all his concerns and worries fade away when he looks at her, emphasizing the wonder that parenthood brings.
De Niro also opened up about his home life with Chen and baby Gia during an interview with The Guardian in October. Reflecting on his age, he shared that he has taken a step back from the heavier responsibilities of parenting, acknowledging Chen’s role as the primary caregiver. He also emphasized the importance of having additional help and support.
The couple’s relationship began in 2021 when they met on the set of De Niro’s film “The Intern” released in 2015. According to Chen, their connection was initially purely professional, but they reconnected a couple of years later and realized they had a genuine and strong bond.
De Niro was previously married to Diahnne Abbott from 1976 to 1988 and Grace Hightower from 1997 to 2018. He and Chen are now enjoying their life together as they navigate the joys and challenges of raising their beautiful daughter, Gia.
