Carrie Underwood and 5-year-old son deliver heartwarming rendition of “The Little Drummer Boy” in charming duet

Growing up, my family had our own list of Christmas classics that we would listen to every year. We gravitated towards the old-fashioned hits that gave us a sense of nostalgia and warmth. It’s no wonder that when I heard Carrie Underwood’s rendition of “The Little Drummer Boy,” I instantly fell in love.

“The Little Drummer Boy” is a timeless holiday song that has roots in a traditional Czech carol. The version we know today was written by Katherine K. Davis in 1941. Everyone has their favorite rendition of this beloved tune, but there’s something truly special about Carrie Underwood’s cover from 2020.

Carrie Underwood needs no introduction, as she is a country music icon who has captured the hearts of audiences time and time again. When she announced that she would be releasing a Christmas album in 2020, the excitement among her fans was palpable. The album featured a mix of classic Christmas songs and original compositions, but the standout track for me was “The Little Drummer Boy.”

In this enchanting duet, Carrie was joined by her son Isaiah, who was just 5 years old at the time. It was a challenge for such a young child to take on the iconic vocals of this song, but Isaiah exceeded all expectations. Their performance together is truly heartwarming and a testament to the bond between a mother and her child.

If you haven’t had the pleasure of hearing their duet, I highly recommend checking out the video below. It’s a magical moment that captures the spirit of the holiday season and is sure to bring a smile to your face.
