When Calls the Heart Actor Mamie Laverock on Life Support After Sustaining Injuries in Five-Story Fall from Balcony

‘When Calls the Heart’ stars Erin Krakow and Johannah Newmarch are rallying support for their co-star Mamie Laverock, who is currently on life support after a tragic accident.

Mamie, 19, experienced a severe fall from a five-story balcony on May 11 and was first rushed to a Winnipeg hospital by her mother, Nicole Compton, due to a medical emergency.

Her family quickly moved her to a Vancouver hospital for further treatment. While her condition was initially listed as critical, her parents, Rob and Nicole, have shared that although her recovery remains uncertain, there are small signs of improvement.

In a recent update, the family revealed that Mamie fell from a secure area of the hospital balcony. She sustained life-threatening injuries and has undergone multiple surgeries since.

Erin Krakow, who stars in ‘When Calls the Heart,’ took to Instagram to ask her followers for help by donating to Mamie’s GoFundMe campaign. “💔 I just donated. If you have the means to do so, I hope you will too,” Erin wrote.

Johannah Newmarch, who portrays Mamie’s on-screen mother, Molly Sullivan, expressed her heartbreak on X (formerly Twitter), urging people to support the family during this difficult time. “I love this family, my heart is broken. A devastating time for all who care for Mamie,” she shared.

A spokesperson for Hallmark Media conveyed their deep sadness over this tragic event, stating: “We are deeply saddened to hear the news about Mamie. As a beloved member of our When Calls the Heart community, we wish her and her family peace, comfort, and many prayers during this difficult time.”

Mamie began her acting career in 2012 with a role in the movie This Means War, starring Reese Witherspoon, Chris Pine, and Tom Hardy. Although her part was eventually cut, she described the experience as “unbelievable.”

On ‘When Calls the Heart,’ she has had a recurring role as Rosaleen Sullivan, a nursing student, and her performance earned her the Young Artists Award for best performance in a TV series in 2015.

She returned to the show in 2023 for its 10th season and has also had roles in other Hallmark projects including Wedding of Dreams, the 2017 horror The Hollow Child, and Netflix’s A Series of Unfortunate Events in 2019, as well as the 2020 Lifetime movie Spotlight on Christmas.

‘When Calls the Heart’ airs Sundays at 9 p.m. ET on the Hallmark Channel.
