Trump suggests that ‘deranged’ Special Counsel Jack Smith may re-indict him.

Former President Donald Trump has suggested that he could face a third indictment.

Trump commented on Truth Social on Tuesday, “WOW! On Sunday night, after returning from the Turning Point event in Florida, where I won the straw poll against all other Republican contenders with 85.7%… My attorneys informed me of TERRIFYING NEWS FOR OUR COUNTRY.”

“Deranged Jack Smith, the prosecutor with Joe Biden’s DOJ, sent me a letter (again, it was Sunday night!) stating that I am a TARGET of the January 6th Grand Jury investigation, and giving me a very short 4 days to report to the Grand Jury, which almost always means an Arrest and Indictment,” he went on.

Special Counsel Jack Smith previously indicted Trump for his alleged mishandling of classified documents.

In that case, Trump faces 37 counts, including 31 counts of willful retention of national defense information, one count of conspiracy to obstruct justice, one count of corruptly concealing a document or record, one count of concealing a document in the course of a federal investigation, and one count of making false statements.

According to the indictment, “the classified documents Trump stored in his boxes included information regarding the defense and weapons capabilities of both the United States and foreign countries; US nuclear programs; potential vulnerabilities of the United States and its allies to military attack; and plans for possible retaliation in response to a foreign attack.”

“Unauthorized disclosure of these classified documents could jeopardize US national security, foreign relations, the safety of US military and human sources, and the viability of sensitive intelligence collection methods,” it added.

He also blamed “mutants” for the indictment — though it was unclear what he meant.

Smith was tapped to investigate Trump’s handling of classified documents and his efforts to overturn the results of the 2020 election.
