Suri Cruise, Katie Holmes’ adolescent daughter, has managed to stay out of the spotlight for years, so her most recent news is all the more unexpected.

The 16-year-old is a star in the actress’s newest film, Alone Together, in which she co-stars in with her ex-husband, Tom Cruise.

Suri sings Blue Moon in the upcoming movie, Katie said in a Yahoo! Entertainment interview.

Katie, 43, said, “She’s very, very skilled. She promised she would do it, she filmed it, and I let her do her thing. In general, I provide instructions along the lines of, “This is what I think we all want; go do your thing.”

During the movie’s opening credits, Suri’s voice can be heard. Katie responded, “I always want the best level of talent, therefore I asked her,” when asked why she selected Suri for the position.

In a recent interview, the Dawson’s Creek actress discussed how the pair dealt with the epidemic together and shared some of the fun things they did while under lockdown.

Katie said in the second issue of Amazing magazine, “I painted, we had a sewing machine, so we were making quilts, we were cooking; we were on a permanent holiday.

We were staying by a lake, so we probably watched Dirty Dancing ten times. Let me tell you, I danced to it in the living room, and it still holds up. It was fun. We were also on a lake and there was a hammock, so I would wake up, sew, have coffee, and take a nap on the hammock. Oh, and by the way, I have to throw this in.

Katie revealed to InStyle last year that her main goal in raising Suri has always been to help her develop into her unique personality and ensure that she is 100 percent herself as well as strong, capable, and confident.

She has always had a strong personality, and she came out strong. She will choose a task and put her all into it until she excels at it. She then says, “Ok, I’m going to attempt the next thing.” She is very determined and diligent.

Suri is thought to be estranged from her father, Tom, and lives with Katie full-time.
