One night she heard her baby crying in his crib, so Amanda took him to her bed with her to feed him. Being very tired, Amanda immediately fell asleep with the baby next to her.
She woke up at 8 in the morning, with the feeling that something was wrong. Her 30-day-old baby was lying in bed in a bloodbath next to her.
Amanda chose to make her story public, to warn all mothers about the dangers of sleeping in the same bed with a newborn.
Amanda recounted what she remembered from that nightmare morning: “His face was very pale. I got up a little and immediately noticed the pool of blood that was next to Ben, I never thought that something like this could happen to me.
I was hoping it was a nightmare, but unfortunately, it wasn’t. Every time I talk about that day, I call it my day of hell. ”
Following the autopsy, it was not found that the baby was suffocated, but his airways were not blocked in any way. Doctors considered Ben’s death accidental suffocation.
The baby’s mother says she will never forgive this deed and considers herself guilty for the rest of her life of Ben’s death.
“I’m sure if I left him in his crib and didn’t take him to bed with me, Ben would have lived.”
Let’s make the story of the grieving mother known so that other mothers can learn from her mistake and avoid other tragedies from happening.
