Dear readers, it’s not often I come across a story that makes me want to shout from the rooftops and whisper in hushed tones all at the same time. Let me start by saying that unexpected surprises can indeed change your life! Just last week, a dear woman shared with me that she found out she is going to be a grandma for the first time. At sixty years old, having enjoyed the journey of raising children, the idea of grandchildren can often feel nostalgically sweet but not necessarily a given. It’s a new chapter, and yes, it’s exciting, but the twist in her story left me and many others in tears of joy.

Picture this: she’s having her morning coffee, just like any other day, when she gets a call from her son. Now, if you know anything about family, you know there are phone calls that bear great news, and then there are calls where you immediately start praying. It is an unexpected and profound blessing, to be sure. She told me that she felt as if God had seen fit to give her one more great purpose – to be not just a grandma, but a prayer warrior, a spiritual guide, and a bearer of wisdom for her family.

This, dear readers, is where we see the hand of divine intervention so clearly in our lives. The Bible tells us in Jeremiah 29:11, “For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.” How beautifully this promise has come to life in her story! When we follow God’s path, even unexpected turns can lead to the most heartfelt blessings.
