Despite not having access to modern conveniences like running water or washing machines, MaeDell never complained about her tough life. Gracie remembers her grandmother’s unwavering strength and the impressive ability to provide for her large family, no matter the circumstances.
“If somebody ever asked me what my best memory of Grandma is, it’s her tomato preserves,” said Gracie, sharing a fond memory that encapsulates the love and flavors passed down through the generations. MaeDell not only built a rich family legacy through her offspring but also left behind her famous tomato preserves recipe, a symbol of her enduring love for her family.
MaeDell’s devotion and sacrifices have laid the groundwork for future generations. She has played an integral role in her family’s lives, and her incredible love has multiplied into an expansive network of relatives. With an astonishing 106 grandkids, 222 great-grandchildren, 234 great-great-grandchildren, and 37 great-great-great-grandchildren spread across the United States, her impact is immeasurable.
