Do you remember the story of Rapunzel, the princess with the long, flowing hair? Well, believe it or not, there is a real-life Rapunzel walking among us today! Her name is Alia Nasyrova, and she has an astonishing head of hair that reaches a mind-boggling length of 90 inches.

Nasyrova, a 33-year-old woman from Latvia, refers to herself as a “real-life Rapunzel.” She has dedicated her life to taking care of her hair, and she even makes money by growing and showcasing her incredible locks. As a child, Nasyrova was fascinated by the long-haired heroines in fairy tales, and that’s what motivated her to start growing her own hair.

On her website, Nasyrova describes her dream of traveling the world and sharing the beauty of long-haired girls. She considers her hair to be a work of art, and she treats it as such. However, maintaining hair that is almost 8 feet long is no easy task. Nasyrova spends an hour each day washing her hair and an entire day waiting for it to air dry. When she leaves her home, she carries a day bag filled with 22 pounds of liquids, including shampoo, conditioner, and other hair accessories. She even exercises her hair using a yoga mat!

Nasyrova’s husband, Ivan Balaban, adores her long, dark hair. He goes out of his way to make sure he doesn’t accidentally damage it. He jokes that he often has to hug the wall to give the hair enough space and talks to the braid respectfully, asking it to move when necessary.

Having hair that long comes with its own set of challenges. Nasyrova recalls a tragic incident from her childhood when someone accidentally left gum in her hair. It was so difficult to remove that she had to cut a clump of her hair. But despite the challenges, Nasyrova remains dedicated to her hair and continues to grow it.

Although Nasyrova holds the title of a “real-life Rapunzel,” she does not currently hold the record for the longest hair in the world. That honor belongs to Xie Qiuping from China, whose hair measures a staggering 18 ft 5 in, according to the Guinness World Records. Qiuping’s hair is almost as long as an adult male giraffe is tall!

We can all agree that maintaining long hair requires a lot of effort. Let’s salute Alia Nasyrova for her perseverance and commitment in cultivating her gorgeous long locks!
