Student Who Asked Charlie Kirk About Gun Violence Says Itโs โHard to Grappleโ With His Death
The Utah Valley University student posted a video via his social media on Thursday, September 11, in which he addressed the fatal incident and its aftermath while describing Kirkโs death as a โtragedy.โ
Kozak had been attempting to grill the conservative political commentator about gun violence on Wednesday, September 10, when Kirk was shot midway through answering his questions. Kirk was 31.
โI donโt know how to make this video. Itโs been a rough 24 hours,โ Kozak said via the TikTok clip.

While Kozak noted that he staunchly disagreed with many of Kirkโs views, he condemned the shooterโs actions and the reactions of some people to the Turning Point USA founderโs death.
โFirst off, you sick f***ng psychos that think this is the answer, itโs not. I donโt know what else to say,โ Kozak said.
Kozak added that he believed Kirk dying in the way that he did was โawful.โ
โCharlie had two kids and a wife, and not to make this about me, but I have two kids and a wife,โ he said.
He continued: โItโs a tragedy and itโs hard to grapple with. Iโm part of a community thatโs struggling to grapple with it right now.โ

Reiterating that he wasnโt a supporter of Kirk by any means, Kozak emphasized how wrong Kirkโs murder was.

โAs much as I disagree with Charlie Kirk, Iโm on the record for how much I disagree with Charlie Kirk, but, man, dude, he is still a human being. Have we forgotten that?โ he added.
The search for Kirkโs killer is continuing. The FBI and Utah authorities released new footage and photos on Thursday of a person of interest believed to be involved in the shooting.
Footage released at a press conference on Thursday night showed the suspect fleeing from the scene. In the video, the suspect can be seen running across the roof of a building from where the fatal shot was fired.

Earlier on Thursday, the FBI shared photos of the person it was looking for and offered a sizable reward for relevant information that could lead to an arrest.
