Simon Cowell exchanges his celebrity for a new career as a stay-at-home dad; his wife now controls his business.

Simon Cowell’s career, which was once a Saturday night TV fixture and a continuous presence in the news, appears to have taken a new turn.

Simon Cowell may be spotted dining with celebrities and being followed by paparazzi during the prime days of The X Factor when the show commanded an audience of over 14 million viewers.

He was well-known for being close to celebrities and media figures, inviting them to his London mansion for meals and activities.

However, the 63-year-old recently sold his $57 million London home and relocated to the countryside, indicating a shift away from the entertainment sector.

According to the Daily Mail, Cowell’s fiancΓ©e, Lauren Silverman, has taken on an important role in his entertainment company, Syco, with little influence from Cowell.

According to the publication, Cowell does not spend much time with other high-profile figures and has few broadcast responsibilities aside from his present role as a judge on ITV’s Britain’s Got Talent.

All of this is part of Cowell’s desire to spend more time with his nine-year-old son, Eric. This desire is reported to have intensified since he suffered significant injuries in an e-bike accident at his California residence in 2020. The collision resulted in a shattered back and a six-hour surgery.

“Simon’s trajectory has seen a complete transformation,” a source close to Cowel stated. He used to intentionally seek media attention, with even his errands becoming front-page news. Nonetheless, he has now withdrawn into anonymity, refusing to reveal his whereabouts.”

“He once thrived on being a subject of discussion and intrigue, but now he shies away from the spotlight, preferring the comfort of home with Eric while Lauren manages what remains of his business,” the insider stated.

Cowell chose to downsize his company Syco in January 2022, which resulted in the departure of the bulk of his employees. Those close to the shrewd entrepreneur, who launched the company in 2004 as a record label, revealed his plans to focus completely on his career as a television personality.

According to sources, ITV – where The X Factor aired – gradually began turning toward developing more humane reality series like The Masked Singer several years ago, especially in light of recent scandals surrounding Cowell’s shows.

During filming, his former Britain’s Got Talent co-star David Walliams was caught using inappropriate language against an elderly auditionee and making sexual comments about a female participant.

Insider also reported on a previous contestant’s allegations of sexual abuse while on the show, with Cowell himself calling the charges “horrific” and “heartbreaking.”

We can only hope that Cowell’s choice to move away from the spotlight and take on a more fatherly role at home goes well!
