Céline Dion’s sister provides a bleak health update on the singer.

Céline Dion’s sister, Claudette Dion, has provided an update on the singer’s health, who was forced to cancel her world tour owing to a diagnosis of stiff person syndrome.

Céline, 55, is being cared for by their sister Linda and working closely with professional researchers for the unusual disease, according to Claudette.

“We can’t find any medicine that works, but having hope is important,” Claudette explained to SheMazing. She underlined that Céline required relaxation because she goes above and beyond during performances, always aiming for perfection.

“At one point, your heart and your body are trying to tell you something,” she added. It is critical to pay attention to it.”

Only one in a million persons suffer from stiff person syndrome, a rare neurological condition that causes uncontrollable muscle spasms.

Céline has worked closely with prominent researchers in the field of this disease, and her family believes she may eventually uncover a rehabilitation strategy that will allow her to return to the stage. “[Performing] comes naturally to her; she’s disciplined in all aspects of her life,” Claudette added.

Claudette has stated that when direct connection with Céline is not feasible, she receives health updates from their other sister, Linda, who is currently residing with the singer at her Las Vegas home.

Céline’s supporters rallied around her when the tour was canceled in May, expressing their appreciation for her putting her health first. The cancellation comes after she had initially postponed gigs in December 2022 due to the diagnosis revelation.

Céline emphasized her disappointment at canceling her Courage World Tour in an Instagram post, writing, “It is with tremendous disappointment that we have to announce today the cancellation of the Courage World Tour.”

“I’m so sorry to disappoint all of you yet again,” she concluded. I’m working hard to regain my strength, but even when you’re at your peak, traveling can be exhausting. It’s not fair to you to keep postponing the events, and as much as it pains me, it’s better that we cancel everything now until I’m truly ready to return to the stage.”

“I want you all to know, I’m not giving up,” the singer concluded. and I’m looking forward to seeing you again!”

Although there is no cure for stiff person syndrome, Céline is actively managing her symptoms, working with a team of specialists, and focusing on her health and recovery.

According to a source close to the singer, the diagnosis “came as a shock, but she’s lost none of her fighting spirit and is comforted that at least she knows what she’s dealing with now.” There is some solace in knowing that she can reduce some of her symptoms by receiving therapy tailored to her condition.”

Céline Dion is in our thoughts and prayers during this difficult time.
