Not So Fashionable in Real Life

While Parker’s character on the show inspired many women to embrace fashion as a lifestyle, she has admitted that she doesn’t prioritize fashion the same way in her own life. She believes it’s healthier to not define herself by her fashion choices.
“I like beautiful things, but when you have three kids and a busy life, fashion becomes less of a priority,” she shared in an interview. She prefers to focus on practicality and doesn’t let criticism affect her choices.

Dealing with Criticism

Over the years, Parker has faced criticism for her fashion sense, including her outfit at the Met Gala. However, she doesn’t understand why people feel the need to criticize someone’s personal style. She believes that fashion is subjective, and one should wear what they like and feel comfortable in.
Parker has also faced ageism and sexism in the industry. She was voted “Unsexiest Woman Alive” and received mean comments about her gray hair. However, she has learned to ignore the critics and stay true to herself.

Embracing Aging and Authenticity

As she enters her late 50s, Parker has a clear perspective on aging. She doesn’t spend too much time worrying about her appearance and believes in being graceful with herself. She acknowledges that age is a natural part of life and chooses authenticity over trying to look perfect.

Family First

Despite the criticism she has faced, Parker remains focused on what matters most to her: her family. She prioritizes spending time with her husband, actor Matthew Broderick, and their three children. Their strong and loving relationship has been a constant source of support for Parker.

Despite the criticism, she remains unbothered, knowing that she has the love and support of her loved ones. As her husband, Matthew Broderick, describes her, she is “just a great, beautiful, hilarious person!”
