Riley Keough pays heartfelt homage to her mother. Six months after her death, Lisa Marie Presley

Riley Keough took to social media to pay profound and passionate homage to her late mother, Lisa Marie Presley, who died six months ago.

The news that the 54-year-old singer-songwriter had died shocked the world, especially as she was seen at the Golden Globes two days before her death to support Baz Luhrmann’s blockbuster biopic about her father Elvis Presley, who died when Lisa Marie was nine years old in 1977.

On January 10, Austin Butler was awarded a Golden Globe for his portrayal in the film. Lisa Marie gushed about the young actor on the red carpet, claiming that he did a fantastic job playing her father and that the film moved her deeply.

Austin reciprocated her admiration, thanking her in his acceptance speech. “I’d also like to thank our incredible producers, Warner Bros., and the Presley family, thank you for opening your hearts, memories, and home to me.” “I love you forever, Lisa Marie and Priscilla,” he said.

Lisa Marie’s mother, Priscilla, 78, came to Twitter on January 12 to inform that her daughter had been sent to the hospital, writing: “My beloved daughter Lisa Marie was rushed to the hospital.” She is now receiving the best possible treatment. Please keep her and our family in your thoughts and prayers. We know the blessings worldwide and request privacy during this time.”

According to news outlets, after being certified brain dead and placed in a medically induced coma upon her arrival at the hospital, Lisa Marie died hours later. She is survived by three daughters: actress Riley Keough, 34, and twins Harper Vivienne Ann Lockwood and Finley Aaron Love Lockwood, 14 years old.

Riley came to Instagram this week, on the six-month anniversary of her mother’s death, to post an emotional tribute – an image of her late mother next to Riley’s younger brother Benjamin Keough, who died by suicide on July 12, 2020, at the age of 27.

“Missing you both,” she wrote beside a red heart emoji on the black and white photo.

Lisa Marie was well known to have been devastated by her son’s abrupt death. She even wrote a heartbreaking essay on her grief for People magazine in August 2020 – one month after Benjamin died.

“I’ve been dealing with death, grief, and loss since I was nine.” “I’ve had more than my fair share of it in my life, and yet I’ve made it this far,” she wrote. “But this one, the death of my lovely, lovely son?” The nicest and most incredible creature I’ve ever had the joy of knowing, who made me feel so privileged to be his mother every single day? No. Just no… no no no no…”

While the Presley family mourned Benjamin’s death on Tuesday, Riley celebrated by premiering the trailer for her directorial debut film War Pony and learning she had been nominated for an Emmy for her lead role in the TV series Daisy Jones & The Six.

Our hearts and prayers are with the Presley family.
