Reba McEntire acknowledges that after her mother’s tragic death, she was in a “tailspin.”

Reba McEntire anticipates having a busy year because it will include two significant acting roles and more touring due to her demanding work schedule.

The country music star’s world, however, came crumbling down just two years ago when she tragically lost her mother, Jacqueline “Jackie” McEntire, who passed away at the age of 93 from bladder cancer just days before the US was subject to severe restrictions because of the COVID-19 outbreak.

“I was in Oklahoma helping my brother and sisters take care of Momma and flying back and forth to Nashville tour rehearsals,” Reba remembered the traumatic time.

“I returned home for the burial after she died away in the middle of March. That is when COVID first appeared. We were not even allowed to hold a funeral.

Reba acknowledged that the aftermath of the pandemic and her mother’s death had left her and her family in a tough situation. “You mention a tailspin? ‘What’s going on?’ was the general response from everyone. “What is COVID?

Reba said in a touching Instagram post that she relied on her faith to get through the loss of her mother.

Reba wrote, “Our Mother, Jacqueline McEntire, made that wonderful cross over into Heaven today,” alongside a picture of her mother. She had lived a great, full life and was well prepared to pass go. Although cancer may have believed it had won the war, we give God all the glory for choosing the exact moment for her to return to Him. She was eager to visit our father, her mother, and her father, and all of her relatives and friends.

“Down here, Alice, Pake, Susie, and I, as well as the grandchildren and great-grandchildren, all got to speak with her on the phone or in person,” she continued. We all knew how much she loved us before she departed, and she left knowing it.

We express our gratitude to God for the time He granted us with Mama and for all the prayers, cards, calls, visits, and the caregivers’ enormous hearts.

Regardless of her title at the time, Reba said, “Jackie, Jac, Ms. McEntire, Mama, Mama Jac, Momo Jac, Grandma, Grandma Jac, she gave you her complete attention. Even though we have so many beautiful memories of her, we will all miss her. I praise the Lord for that.
