Praying for Jimmy Carter as His Foundation Makes a Heartfelt Announcement

Reports have recently emerged that former President Jimmy Carter has entered hospice care. The decision, as stated by The Carter Center, comes after several hospital stays. At the 28th Rosalynn Carter Georgia Mental Health Forum, Jason Carter, his grandson, offered an update on Jimmy Carter’s health.

Jason shared that his grandfather is doing okay, but he is nearing the end of his journey. There is a deep sense of faith that Jimmy has embraced, and he is living that faith journey to the fullest in these final moments.

Jimmy Carter’s family made their first announcement exactly one year after he entered hospice, just three months after the passing of his beloved wife, Rosalynn. Despite receiving end-of-life care for the past 12 months, Jimmy was able to attend Rosalynn’s funeral, where he touched the hearts of many by wearing a blanket that celebrated their long-lasting love and marriage.

At 98 years old, Jimmy Carter is currently the oldest living president, a distinction he has held since 2018 when George H.W. Bush passed away. Throughout the years, Jimmy has dealt with various health issues, including beating brain cancer in 2015 and undergoing brain surgery in 2019.

Aside from his political career, Jimmy Carter is also a retired peanut farmer, a former US Navy Lieutenant, a devoted Sunday School teacher, and a passionate volunteer for Habitat for Humanity. In 2002, he was recognized with the Nobel Peace Prize.
