More Heartbreak for Former President Jimmy Carter’s Family

Former President Jimmy Carter’s wife, Rosalynn Carter, has been by his side for many years. Although they are still together and happily married at their North Carolina home, life in the Carter household is not always rosy.

Jimmy Carter is receiving hospice care at home, as previously acknowledged by the Carter family. This type of at-home medical therapy is often given to terminally sick patients and is more focused with keeping the patient comfortable than curing them of an illness.

The Carters have now received even more terrible news. Rosalynn Carter’s family has announced her personal diagnosis. The former first lady, 95, has been diagnosed with dementia.

Some find this strange given that she has spent most of her life battling for those suffering from mental illness.

Rosalynn’s family is upbeat in the aftermath of her diagnosis, claiming she “continues to live happily at home with her husband, enjoying spring in Plains and visits with loved ones.”

Mrs. Carter’s declaration emphasizes her unique perspective on life and “caregivers.” According to the statement, “Mrs. Carter often noted that there are only four types of people in the world: those who have provided care in the past, those who do so now, those who will provide care in the future, and those who will need to do so.” The message concludes, “We do not expect to comment further and ask for understanding for our family and everyone across the country serving in a caregiver role.”

For 77 years, Jimmy and Rosalynn Carter have been wed. Since they are still a happy couple, it is reasonable to assume that they will remain married till the end of their lives.
