Money, power and technology should be neutral.

Money, technology and power are neutral things for people. Or at least that’s how it should be … There should be things that don’t change them.

However, we often see how people change when they get to make more money, when they get to have a more important position. Many times we do not recognize the man who posts on social networks, even if in reality we have known him for years. Why do some things change our behavior?

We may well work hard for what we have, but all we have are gifts that God gives us to use as much as we need them here. There are gifts that will not help our soul in any way as long as we misuse them. There are gifts that should not hate our souls, and especially should not define you.

Indeed, a life in which we do not lack material things is a comfortable life, which gives us some security from the point of view of living. But are we responsible when we use these gifts? Are we aware that we have them all because of God and that we should be grateful? What is our attitude toward God? How many of us are content and how many are arrogant?

I believe that as long as we are on this earth we are only “accountants” for God’s money. We need to ask Him how He wants us to deal with everything He has given us … And I know that He will help us understand where and how to spend and how to enjoy our part. And I still believe that when we start to rely on these gifts more than God, then we take God away from our lives … And then money becomes a big problem.

For every gram of power we have we will have to give an account. We are responsible for every function and influence we have every second. Great function, appropriate responsibility … We can use the power and influence we have to help others, or we can use them only for our own interests. We can use our position and power to honor or anger God … We can make Jesus known to people or make ourselves known to people …

Technology exists to make our lives easier, to communicate more easily with each other and for many other aspects. Technology gives us access to information we never dreamed of … And yet, we often become its prisoners. Through technology we can send beautiful words and make beautiful gestures, but we are also free to offend and throw mud … because we are protected by a friendly interface and a monitor that hides us from real life. We can become two different people with the help of technology … And not for the better.

All the things we talked about above can become our helpers or prison cells just as easily. They can be comfortable cells, but they direct our gaze from God to our selfish self … There are things that can help us get closer or closer to God …. There are neutral things, but misused destroy. There are things that show us how we really are on the inside. Does this interior we discover honor or shame us?

Not all the riches in this world are allowed to make us proud. Everything we have, we have thanks to God, and we must be grateful to Him. But the attitude we adopt is at our discretion …

It is easy to turn our face to God when we are on earth and we cannot escape … But how often do we take the time to thank Him for when we are well? … Only when easy times come do we see who our face really is …. And the question is: do you think that face will please God?
