Melania’s Reaction to King Charles’ Humorous Comment

King Charles has always aimed to bring a modern touch to the monarchy ever since he became king. During his royal duties, he’s known for his friendly approach, often stopping to chat with people and adding a sprinkle of humor. This was evident during the recent state visit of Donald and Melania Trump. As the couple arrived for their second state visit, King Charles welcomed them in his own unique way, making a humorous comment that drew a delightful response from Melania.

The special visit was set in motion when Donald Trump received a formal invitation from King Charles back in July. The president and first lady, Melania Trump, set foot in the UK on September 16, marking a historic second state visit to the country.

During their stay, Donald had plenty of engagements with King Charles, while Melania spent time with Kate Middleton and Queen Camilla. Their official welcome was performed by Prince William and Kate, followed by their introduction to the king and queen.

King Charles has a knack for engaging with the public, often stopping to share a word and a jest. He once brought smiles to some unsuspecting American tourists in Notting Hill, London, as captured in a December video. Approaching them with humor, he remarked, “I’m so sorry you’re being stopped from having to get on the street. Are you all trying to go somewhere else today, are you? You’re not getting too wet, I hope?”

Charles Shares A Light Moment With Melania

While a light conversation with the public is common, meeting esteemed officials and dignitaries could be seen differently, especially for a king in his late 70s. However, King Charles proved otherwise during his interaction with Melania Trump at Windsor Castle. A lip reader later revealed the king’s amusing comment made to Melania, who arrived wearing an eye-catching large, wide-brimmed purple hat.

Forensic lipreader Nicola Hickling interpreted the exchange, noting that Donald began the meeting by saying, “How are you doing? It’s a pleasure, Your Majesty. Thank you for inviting me.” King Charles then turned his attention to Melania with a cheeky remark, “I do hope the wind doesn’t blow away your hat,” prompting a hearty laugh from the first lady.

Melania is no stranger to hat discussions, having donned a notable black hat during her husband’s inauguration in January, stirring up talks back then as well. This time though, her hat choice was again the subject of lively discussions.

Intentional Hat Choice, Says Expert

According to stylist and Vogue employee Marian Kwei, Melania’s selection of the wide-brimmed hat was not by chance, especially for a day spent with King Charles and other senior royals. Kwei explained her belief to the BBC, stating, “The wide-brimmed hat that hides her face points to an attitude where she wants all eyes to be on her husband and his agenda while they are here.”
