Meghan Markle brutally divorced her first husband.

The manner in which Meghan Markle divorced her first husband was particularly heartless.

On April 17, a new book titled Meghan: A Hollywood Princess, which was written by Andrew Morton, who also wrote the biography of Princess Diana, is scheduled to be published. This book is all about Meghan Markle.

Although the unofficial biography offers a lot of startling disclosures, the one that must be considered the most stunning is the manner in which Markle parted ways with her first husband, the film producer Trevor Engelson (opens in new tab).

Morton claims that Markle and Engelson first met in a club in Hollywood, and that the producer assisted her in getting a small part in the film Remember Me, which starred Robert Pattinson.

An excerpt from Morton’s upcoming book was just published in The Sunday Times (opens in a new tab), in which the author says that Engelson made a significant impact on Markle during their initial encounter in the year 2004. (opens in new tab).

She was a failing actress at the time, and Trevor Engelson, who was “more than 6 feet tall, with reddish blond hair and blue eyes, had the look of a Matthew McConaughey-lite,” was attracted to her because of his appearance. Interesting.

It appears that Engelson was also very optimistic, as evidenced by the fact that he told Markle that “hope is the biggest currency we have in this company.” His terrible attempt at a pick-up line paid off, and the two of them started dating.

Despite this, their relationship was marred by difficulties almost immediately. It would appear that Engelson was working on the production of the film License to Wed, which was released in 2007 and starred Mandy Moore and John Krasinski.

According to Morton has said, “Meghan harbored a deep-down desire that she would be cast in one of the roles. Meghan was dissatisfied that Trevor did not make more of an effort to include her in some of his works, and this was to become a source of contention between the two of them.”

Markle and Engelson tied the knot in 2011, but barely two years and one year later, in 2013, they parted ways. Engelson remained in Los Angeles even while Markle had moved to Toronto for the Suits television show. The geographical separation made their marriage more difficult.

The following is said in the new book:

It would appear that even at this late hour, Engelson “can hardly contain his indignation” over the awful circumstances.

According to Morton, “She was her own woman now, earning a solid salary, making new acquaintances on-set and off, and she was no longer dependent on her husband’s connections.”
