King Charles’ jaw-dropping nickname for Meghan Markle was revealed
The New Royals, the most recent book written by royal expert Katie Nicholl, was recently published, and now is the perfect time to grab a cup of tea (preferably English morning) and enjoy the high drama that the book has to offer.
Nicholl not only disclosed in the book that King Charles was “irritated” because Kate Middleton’s ensembles received more attention than he did (sigh….), but he also disclosed the king’s nickname for Meghan Markle, which is “Megs.”
Nicholl writes in an article for Entertainment Tonight that “Charles reportedly called his future daughter-in-law ‘Tungsten’ because of her toughness and resilience.” Nicholl’s article may be found here.
She also mentions that the Sussexes’ joint appearance with Prince William and Kate Middleton at the Royal Foundation Forum in 2018 was particularly notable for Meghan and Harry’s resiliency, which was notably on display during that event.
“According to one of William and Kate’s aides, this was the moment they recognized they needed to step up their game. At the time, Kate was seven months pregnant “Nicholl provided an explanation.
“The Cambridges had already given some indication of their desire to be more than “ornamental royals,” and they and Harry had already achieved a great deal of success with their initiative to promote mental health awareness known as Heads Together.
But Meghan stood out from the rest of the group as the most impressive performer. She presented her argument in a manner that was professional, impassioned, and amusing, employing all of the abilities that she had learned from her time on television.
According to a source, William and Kate had a “wake-up moment” when they realized that Meghan was extremely impressive, very confident, and quite talented. “That was a wake-up moment for William and Kate.
I am not sure what William and Kate were thinking when they decided they needed to “raise their game” after learning that Meghan was stunning and confident, but that’s good!
Anyway, as we are all aware, Meghan and Harry announced their desire to stand aside from senior royal duties a little over a year after this event, in January of 2020.
This date was chosen specifically because of the significance of the occasion. Since then, they have relocated to California, and as a result, their relationship with the royal family, especially William and Kate, has been, to put it mildly, tense.
