Kenny Chesney performs an unexpected acoustic set at a Key West dive bar.

Consider this: you’ve just spent the entire day on the beach and are now looking for a cold one at one of the local drinking holes in Key West, Florida.

You decide on Capt. Tony’s Saloon, a dive bar. The sun is shining brightly, Jimmy Buffett is blasting from the speakers, and the cocktails are pouring. What could possibly be better?

Perhaps some live music.

A man in blue shorts, a white t-shirt, and a backwards baseball hat walks in and begins playing his guitar minutes after you enter.

That man is Kenny Chesney.

The country singer recently performed an impromptu acoustic session for a gathering of patrons at Capt. Tony’s Saloon in Key West.

The 55-year-old, who completed his “I Go Back Tour” in July, sang a shortened version of his 2010 hit song “You and Tequila.”

Chesney released a video of his heartbreaker, which he initially sang with Grace Potter, on social media.

โ€œFeeding my creative soul at Capt. Tonyโ€™s. Thanks to everyone for allowing me to sit in,โ€ he captioned the video.

This isn’t the first time Chesney has taken Key West by surprise.

He previously performed an intimate show at Key West Theater in 2021 and has performed numerous times at Sloppy Joe’s, another island institution.

Can you image being at the bar when Kenny Chesney walks in? What a fantastic surprise for everyone.
