Her teacher had contacted my wife and me to arrange a quick meeting.

Our six-year-old daughter presented a drawing to her teacher. My wife and I complied with her teacher’s request to enter the room for a spur-of-the-moment conversation. Our daughter told us she knew why: “She didn’t like a drawing I did.”

We reported for duty the next morning and talked to the teacher.

Her teacher handed her the painting and explained that she had asked her to draw her family and wanted to know what she drew. “Would you kindly provide me with more details about that?”

Although it can look bad when you first see it, the daughter tried to draw her family when they went snorkeling in the Bahamas.
