‘General Hospital actress Jacklyn Zemen passed away at age 70; may she rest in peace.
Life always includes death. Although it is unpleasant, we must accept it.
Finding out about the passing of a celebrity we admire can similarly be jarring.
Jacklyn Zemen was well-known to many of us thanks to her portrayal of Bobbie Spencer in General Hospital. Everyone was taken aback when they learned of her passing. It was disclosed officially by General Hospital executive producer Frank Valentini. The renowned show’s producer revealed the information on Twitter.
“I am devastated to share the news of the passing of our dearly cherished @JackieZeman on behalf of our @GeneralHospital family. “She was a bright light and true professional who brought so much positive energy with her to work, just like her character, the legendary Bobbie Spencer,” Valentini wrote in his tweet.
The message went on to express sympathy for Jacklyn’s family, particularly to her daughters. He stated, “Jackie will be sorely missed, but her optimistic attitude will always live on with our cast and crew. The tweet said, “We sincerely condolences to her loved ones, friends, and family, especially her daughters Cassidy and Lacey.”
Zeman spent several years portraying Bobbie Spencer on the popular daytime television program General Hospital. She began portraying the part in 1977 and continued until her passing. Approximately 880 episodes feature her as Bobbie Spencer to date.
She appears as Bobbie Spencer in the TV movie spin-off of General Hospital: Twist of Fate series in 1996.
Throughout her career, the actress appeared in several television series, including Chicago Hope, The Bay, and One Life to Live.
In a statement about the late actress, singer Rick Springfield, who at one point was also famously known for briefly appearing in General Hospital in the 1980s, expressed his sorrow over her passing.
“I was utterly shocked and heartbroken to learn of Jackie’s passing. Such a genuinely kind person, without a hint of a diva, had kind words to say about everyone. She was the one (along with Gloria Monty) who helped launch my 80s career when after the screen test along with several other hopeful young men, Gloria asked Jackie who she thought would make a good Noah Drake. God bless her if Jackie didn’t say me,” Springfield shared. I send you to love as your spirit soars, sweet girl. You left your mark on many of us, and you will not be forgotten,” he said.
Her two daughters survive Jacklyn Zeman.
