Doctors Witness Birth That Happens Only Once Every 480 Years

For Alexandra and Antonin Kinova, the fifth time is the charm.

Normally, you’d be overwhelmed with joy at the mere fact of welcoming your bundle of joy into the world. However, for one couple in the Czech Republic, there’s much more than a single reason to be thankful this season, as they welcomed their children- yes, you read that correct; CHILDREN.

The couple, Antonin and Alexandra Kinova, were no strangers to babies as they already had a child. They were even more excited and eager to learn of the latest addition to their family. However, things got even more interesting when they found out that they would be having not one, but two kids.

Considering the fact that Alexandra and Antonin both came from families with long histories of twins, they were gearing up to carry on the family (or in this case, families) tradition.

While in the process of making preparations for their new child, Alexandra and Antonin, who are both from Milovice (a town in the Czech Republic) learned from their doctor that instead of one child, they would be having a set of twins.

Upon hearing of this latest development, the couple, filled with excitement, began to make preparations for the new additions that will be made to the family.

It wasn’t particularly a surprise, considering that they came from families with long histories of having twins.

However, almost immediately, their doctor contacted the couple and scheduled a meeting to re-diagnose.

The next ting the doctor said was something that they never even imagined they’d hear. The doctor showed them the ultrasound again and when they examined it, the doctor broke the news to them plainly; the couple wasn’t expecting one baby or two… but 4 bundles of joy!

You’d think the news would stop there, right?

Well, it didn’t.

A month after that, Alexandra went in for yet another ultrasound and this time, it was revealed that there was still one more baby in her womb!

“When we finally found out that there was a fifth baby, I began to cry”, said Alexandra. Naturally, the chances that this young lady was going to conceive 5 children a once were one in seven million. Still, Alexandra was determined to breastfeed all of them.

When it was finally time for Alexandra to give birth, the hospital provided twice the normal amount of delivery staff to cater for this delivery.

This doubling also included midwives and doctors, and this means that the total number of staff available for the delivery was almost 40. The lead doctor of the hospital’s neonatal department reported that the procedure went on seamlessly, without a single hitch recorded.

When it was all sad and done, the young couple welcomed 5 new members into their family; 4 baby boys and 1 baby girl.

The boys were named Deniel, Alex, Michael, and Martin while the lovely couple named their beautiful girl Tereza. All babies were born in a healthy state, and there has been no single health issue reported from the mother and her new children.

“In this country, we have been actively recording statistics of birth since 1949 and in that time, there has never once been a mention of quintuplets. As a matter of fact, quintuplets are born in the Czech Republic once in every 480 years on an average”, said doctor Alena Mechurova.
