Christine Baumgartner, Kevin Costner’s wife, is compelled to leave the couple’s mansion after a violent divorce battle.
Christine Baumgartner has been told to leave Kevin Costner’s $145 million property, giving him the upper hand in their bitter divorce battle.
According to Yahoo, Judge Thomas Anderele rejected his separated wife’s plea to remain in their home through August during a conference management session on Wednesday, siding instead with the Yellowstone actor. Baumgartner has until July 31 to vacate the property.
Baumgartner and her lawyer attended the session in person, according to ET, while Costner participated via Zoom while remaining silent. Laura Wasser, Costner’s attorney, was present in person.
Costner now has the upper hand in one of their divorce’s most difficult issues, thanks to the decision. Even though their prenup provided that Baumgartner had 30 days to leave after filing for divorce, Baumgartner steadfastly refused.
According to Baumgartner, Costner wants to prevent “making temporary and inconsistent housing arrangements” for the benefit of their children and wants her to “rent a place without a financial plan in place,” according to Radar Online.
She reportedly stated that she would only depart if Costner consented to pay “whatever support fee orders that the court makes” during their impending divorce hearing on July 12, according to Page Six.
However, Costner asked the courts to evict her from the house and for her to abide by the prenuptial agreement’s conditions.
Baumgartner, who had been married to Costner for 18 years, filed for divorce on May 1 due to “irreconcilable differences.” The filing left Costner speechless.
Their divorce sparked a heated argument between the couples that received much media attention. Cayden, 16, Hayes, 14, and Grace, 13, are the couple’s three children. Baumgartner has been requesting $248,000 a month in child support from Costner, claiming that this sum is “less than the amount needed to maintain the children in their accustomed lifestyle.”
However, Costner’s team has argued that this sum is “inflated and grossly inaccurate” and that Baumgartner is using excessive personal expenses, such as credit card debt and cosmetic surgery, to support this sum.
Costner claims that the $51,940 per month he currently pays in child support is a fair amount. Additionally, he has agreed to cover all of the children’s extracurricular costs, Grace’s private school tuition, and the total cost of their health insurance.
We wish Costner and Baumgartner the best in the future and hope they can settle their differences amicably and fairly. Divorce can be messy, especially when children and a sizable wealth are involved.
