Cherished carpenter Ty Pennington’s update on his health after a medical emergency
Ty Pennington, the beloved carpenter from Extreme Makeover: Home Edition, recently provided fans with an update on his condition. After being hospitalized and intubated following the Barbie premiere, Pennington took to Instagram to share his progress.
Pennington mentioned that he was intubated during his hospital stay. From attending the glamorous red carpet event to finding himself in the ICU, it has certainly been an eventful week for him! However, he assured his fans that he is okay now and still in the process of recovering.
Explaining the series of events, Pennington revealed that the sore throat he had been experiencing for a month turned out to be an abscess blocking his airway. As a result, he had to undergo surgery and was quickly transferred to the ICU in Denver. Pennington expressed his gratitude to the medical teams at Summit Health in Frisco and St. Anthony’s in Lakewood, CO, for taking excellent care of him.
“Just happy to be here,” Pennington wrote, along with the reminder to listen to your body when it communicates something is wrong. It was indeed a scary experience, but we are relieved to hear that Pennington is now doing well and on the road to recovery.
