Brooke Shields, 56, Poses Topless, Says She Wants Women To Own Their Sexuality

For women, being confident with their sexuality is not that easy. Being proud of our bodies and showing off our beauty and assets to the public is easier said than done. Not all women are proud of what they see in the mirror. But that is exactly the message that Brooke Shields wants to spread to women from all across the globe.

The 56-year-old is modeling for a new Jordache campaign. And though the model and actress are already 56, nobody can tell what her real age is if you look at her photos. She clearly has the confidence of someone younger than her.

Brooke looks incredible in the ad as she models a pair of jeans for the spring 2022 campaign. Her photo was shot by famed photographer, Cass Bird.

The last time that she modeled for a denim campaign was when she was 15-years-old. Even though it’s been too long, she surely hasn’t lost her touch!

She hasn’t allowed her age to get the better of her either, and that’s a good thing. She appears to be wearing nothing except her jeans in the photographs. Brooke, on the other hand, believes that the images convey an essential message about aging women.

In an interview with People, she discussed the need for body positivity for women of all ages. She says that she truly appreciates this moment in her career. She said, “It’s such an honor to be my age and be represented. I feel the magnitude of it more. There’s a knowledge that comes with age, and this feels less like a job and more like a privilege.”

At this point in her career, Brooke said that authenticity is extremely important to her. She said, “It was important for you to see this is my 56-year-old body and to fight the retouching. I’m always like, ‘You better keep it honest.’ And we did.”

It’s amazing to see celebrities like Brooke and others taking a stand against the age of perfectionists. Even though Brooke will undoubtedly look stunning in any images she poses for, celebrities are notorious for obsessing about how they portray themselves to the public. Eliminating unrealistic beauty standards benefits everyone.

According to Brooke, it was meaningful for her to work with the brand because of its focus on body positivity. Talking about the famous Jordache ad slogan, ‘You’ve got the look’ Brooke said, “Everybody was like, ‘Well, I want the look. You’ve got it, so I want it.’”

She adds, “Jordache was very much a part of that barrier-breaking mentality. They celebrate the idea of being sexy and bold and they’ve always featured strong, hard-working, ambitious women in their campaigns. It was never just about models. I’ve always appreciated that — it celebrates a different type of advertising and puts the focus on female strength.”

For Brooke, this all meant embracing herself just as she is at 56. She said, “There’s something about owning your sexuality at this age that is on point for where we are today.”

At this point in her life and career, Brooke appears to be extremely careful in the tasks she takes on. She says she doesn’t want to be “exploited,” but she prefers projects that are honest and true to their subjects’ experiences and perspectives.
