Did you know that the current Prince of Wales and the current queen of pop shared a few emails when they were younger? This may come as a shock to many.
An old interview of Spears’s with William in which the singer discussed how they almost started dating is currently going viral.
The interview was conducted in 2002, the year Britney became a household name because to her successes “Baby one more time” and “Oops! I did it once more.
Young Spears spoke with host Frank Skinner of a UK TV program about the emails she exchanged with King Charles III’s eldest son.
She also talked about how he was supposed to meet her while she was on tour in the UK, but he never did.
According to Daily Mail, she states in the video, “‘We exchanged emails for a little while, and he was going to come and meet me somewhere, but it didn’t work out.
The host questioned, “You were blown out by Prince William?” She then retorted, “Yeah.”
Did Prince William and Britney Spears date?
Christopher Andersen, a royal biographer, connected William and Britney in his November 2021 publication Brothers and Wives: Inside the Private Lives of William, Kate, Harry and Meghan:
When they were younger, “[William and Britney] tried to get together, and he also had a kind of analogous internet relationship with Lauren Bush, the model and niece of President [George W.] Bush,” Andersen reminisced to Us Weekly.
Even while Britney and the Prince did communicate via email and phone, nothing more serious ever happened. I don’t think they ever managed to get together at that time, he added, adding that there may have been phone calls.
At the University of St. Andrews in Scotland, William and Kate reconnected in 2001 and started dating in 2003. They announced their engagement in November 2010 and got hitched in April 2011.
Since then, the adored royal couple has welcomed three kids: sons George and Louis and daughter Charlotte. Britney, on the other hand, had a string of prominent relationships throughout her turbulent time in the spotlight.
Justin Timberlake and Kevin Federline are two of her ex-boyfriends. Following her split from Kevin, Britney was put under a contentious conservatorship that gave her father Jamie control over most of her life until the end of 2021, when it was lifted.
Britney, who was relishing her newfound independence, later married Sam Asghari. In June 2022, the couple tied the knot.
