After divorcing her ex-husband Brandon Blackstock, Kelly Clarkson discusses her “greatest decision.”

Kelly Clarkson is discussing her post-divorce discontentment with ex-husband Brandon Blackstock for the first time.

In a recent episode of the podcast Las Culturistas, the talk show presenter spoke about the intense emotions she experienced in the wake of her divorce.

“I looked at my therapist and couldn’t stop crying, and I was like, ‘I had to cancel some of the other days because I couldn’t stop crying. The 41-year-old remembers thinking, “I can’t do this.

I guess I took Lexapro for around two months, she remarked. “Since I didn’t want to stay on it forever. I’d rather not be that person. Nothing wrong with that, to be sure. Simply said, I struggle with it because of my own childhood experiences.

I’ve been so opposed to it, she said, “just because of the things I saw as a child.” Therefore, I am opposed to using any pharmaceutical… I think there has to be a better way of talking to someone and figuring things out. I don’t want to become numb.”

However, the former American Idol contestant claimed she put her pride aside and took the antidepressant because “I just can’t smile anymore for America right now. I’m unhappy, and I need assistance.”

And it was, in God’s honest opinion, the best choice ever. Without it, I never would have succeeded.

“I handled what I couldn’t handle then, and now that I have space and time, I took the entire summer off… ” It was an excellent lesson in how to set your ego aside. Someone is attempting to assist you. Listen.”

Kelly Clarkson deserves praise for being transparent about her decision to use an antidepressant. The stigma surrounding mental health and the medications required to treat it is still strong.

After hearing Clarkson’s story, I hope that at least one person may reconsider SSRIs.
