A “Young and the Restless” star, Eric Braeden, admits that prostate cancer was initially misdiagnosed.

Eric Braeden confirmed his prostate cancer diagnosis less than two weeks ago.

The Young and the Restless star is back with another crucial message.

The 82-year-old told Entertainment Tonight, “I’m going public with this to inform others.

Braeden, who was just diagnosed with prostate cancer, claimed that his condition was initially misdiagnosed and that he hopes that by sharing his experience, other men can benefit.

“I just want men to understand they shouldn’t fear it. I want them to know how important it is to have their colon, bladder, and prostate checked.”

“As you age, your prostate enlarges and presses against your urethra. It implies that you use the restroom much more frequently than you would like to. That can sometimes be the start of problems.

Although he acknowledged that learning he had cancer was frightening, he does not want other people’s fear to prevent them from seeking medical attention.

“Just become familiar with it and be honest about it to dispel people’s fears… Many men, including myself, would not want to learn about it. That is absurd.

In a Facebook Live video, Braeden revealed his diagnosis and detailed how he initially disclosed he was experiencing problems after having knee replacement surgery.

He wasn’t aware that he had high-grade cancer cells close to his bladder until he sought a second opinion.

In the 13-minute video, he said, “I hate to be this person, but I think this may be good for some older guys who may or may not listen to this.”

The soap opera star is currently receiving the six-week immunotherapy treatment.

I sincerely hope that individuals will consider the seriousness of their symptoms and seek medical guidance if they feel unwell.
