A Timeless Beauty

Raise your hand if you were a fan of the beloved TV series, “The Partridge Family.” If you were, then you surely remember the stunning beauty of Laurie Partridge, portrayed by the talented Susan Dey.

What makes Susan’s story even more remarkable is that she had no prior acting experience when she was offered the role in the ABC series. But her exceptional talent and ease in front of the camera made her the perfect choice for Laurie Partridge.

The show followed the adventures of a singing family who traveled from one event to another on a modified psychedelic school bus, entertaining large crowds wherever they went. It quickly became a hit in the US, catapulting the cast, including Susan, into the spotlight.

One person who captured the hearts of many young girls was David Cassidy, who played Keith in the show. And among those smitten was Susan herself. Although she had a crush on him, they didn’t start dating until after the program ended.

David even wrote a book called “C’mon, Get Happy: Fear and Loathing on the Partridge Family Bus,” in which he extensively addressed his relationship with Susan. However, their romance didn’t last long, and they eventually went their separate ways. David claimed that one of the reasons for their split was that Susan was too innocent for him. This infuriated Susan, leading her to vow that she would never speak to him again. As a result, she chose not to attend the cast reunion.

After her role in “The Partridge Family,” Susan went on to appear in numerous movies and TV shows. One notable publication of hers is the book “Susan Dey’s Secrets on Boys, Beauty, and Popularity.”

Her talent was recognized with nominations for six Golden Globes and three Emmys. And finally, she won the Best Actress Golden Globe for her portrayal of Grace Van Owen in the iconic TV series “LA Law.”

It’s interesting to note that Susan could have had a completely different role in her career. According to Worldation.com, she turned down the opportunity to play Sandy in the movie “Grease,” a part that eventually went to Olivia Newton-John, who became a household name after the film’s massive success.

Today, Susan lives a peaceful life in New York with her husband and their family. While she may not be in the spotlight anymore, she will always be remembered as the woman who made our youth special. Nobody can forget the magic of “The Partridge Family,” no matter how much time has passed.
