A story from which we all have something to learn!

In my daily run on the internet, I came across a story that made me think and I think it will help you to see life differently.

“A friend of mine opened his wife’s closet and took out a package wrapped in fine silk. With tears in her eyes, she knelt down, looked into my eyes and said,

“This this is not an ordinary package.”

He opened the box and looked at a satin evening dress. He hugged her tightly to his chest.

“She bought this underwear when she first went to New York nine years ago. He never used it. He told me he kept it for a special occasion. “I think this is the occasion.”

He got to his feet and approached the bed; she placed the dress next to the other clothes she was going to take to the funeral home. His wife had just died. He turned to me and said,

“Keep nothing for a special occasion… every day lived is a special occasion. Remember that. ”

It’s been a few weeks since I talked to him… and I’m still thinking about those words. They changed my life. Now I read more and clean less. I sit on the chair in the backyard and admire the view without being bothered by the weeds in the garden. I try to spend more time with family and friends and less at the office.

Now I understand that life must be an accumulation of experiences to enjoy, not a struggle to survive. I don’t keep anything, I enjoy everything I have. I use crystal glasses at every meal. I put on my new coat even when I go shopping. I no longer keep the best perfume for special occasions, I use it whenever I feel like it.

The words “One day…” and “One day zile” disappeared from my vocabulary.

If something is worth seeing, hearing or doing… I want to see or hear or do NOW.

I’m not sure what my friend’s wife would have done if she knew she wouldn’t have tomorrow, a day we’ve all come to ignore to a great extent. I think his whole family and close friends would have called. Maybe he would have called some old friends to apologize for the quarrels and upsets of the past… maybe he wanted to talk to everyone.

I would like to think that she would have gone out in the city, to the restaurant, and ordered her favorite food. It’s about those little things you regret not doing…

Every day, every hour, every minute, every second… everything is special.

Live for today, tomorrow you may not be.

If you received this message… then it is probably because someone cares about you and someone loves you…

If you are too busy to send this message to other people and you say that you will send it “One day…”, remember that “One day…” is far away… or it may never be again.

Forward the message if you want to make a change in your life and the lives of your loved ones. ”
