New Prince George photo astounded royal enthusiasts.

It is appropriate to wish Prince George, the eldest Cambridge child and third in line to the throne, a happy birthday.

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge commemorated the event on Thursday by posting a new photo to their Instagram feed.

The caption was “George is turning 9!” and included an emoji of a party cake and a balloon.

The Duchess of Cambridge captured this picture of the baby royal grinning from ear to ear while the family was on vacation in the UK earlier this year. The picture was taken on a sandy beach.

The Queen’s great-grandson appeared in the photo sporting a light blue JCrew polo shirt, but it’s his uncanny likeness to Prince William that has admirers and followers taking notice.

“What a great picture!” On the Instagram photo, one fan left a comment. George reminds me so much of his father,

Another person commented, “He looks precisely like William to me,” and royal enthusiasts continued to notice the similarity.

He’s beginning to resemble his father a lot more these days. One admirer said, “Amazing a tiny William spitting image,” and another added, “wow.”

Prince George sports a sharp appearance as he attends his first Wimbledon match with parents William and Kate.

Social media users have expressed their opinions about the Prince William clone before.

Fans couldn’t help but compare Prince George’s increased public appearances earlier this year for the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee festivities to Prince William’s similar-aged public engagements.

The two welcomed people at Cardiff Castle in Wales while wearing matching navy suits, and they were seen side-by-side at the Platinum Party at the Palace event during the central Platinum Jubilee weekend.

Following the Trooping the Colour event, they made an appearance on the balcony of Buckingham Palace, which many compared to Prince William’s in 1990, when he was eight years old.

When George was born, someone on Twitter said, “Love how George is Prince William’s little mini-me.”

Doesn’t His Royal Highness Prince George resemble His Royal Highness Prince William, someone else remarked?

“George is Wills’ spitting image,” a third person said.

While it is inevitable that the baby royal will resemble his father slightly (genetics, right?) Prince George has nearly identical blonde hairstyles and a strong resemblance to how his father appeared at the same age.

The uncanny similarity is further highlighted by the fact that Prince William has been in the public eye since he was a baby and that the public has access to a collection of old photographs to compare.

We take a look at all the instances the father-son pair had the exact similar facial features as they celebrate Prince George’s ninth birthday with a new image that remarkably resembles Prince William.
