Heritage Foundation President Kevin Roberts says Paul Dans ‘departing the team and moving up to the front’
Oh, the drama in politics! If you’re craving some juicy political tea, you’ve come to the right place. It’s been quite the week at the Heritage Foundation, with the leader of their high-profile Project 2025 stepping down in the face of sharp criticism from none other than former President Donald Trump. Let’s dive into this political saga, shall we?

So, what’s all the fuss about? The Heritage Foundation’s Project 2025, also known as the Presidential Transition Project, is a blueprint for a future Republican administration aimed at restructuring various parts of the U.S. government. It kicked off in April 2022 and has since become a lightning rod for criticism, particularly from Trump and his loyalists.
Here’s where it gets spicy. Trump has not minced words about his disdain for the project, labeling it “absolutely ridiculous and abysmal.” This conservative plan, running at a whopping 900 pages, has become a punching bag for Trump’s campaign as they pivoted their focus from Joe Biden to Project 2025 to divert voter attention. And it’s not even associated with Trump’s campaign!
Trump called the program ‘absolutely ridiculous and abysmal’ as the then-Biden campaign was zeroing in, pointing to the 900-page conservative plan to steer voters away from a second Trump administration.
Kevin Roberts, president of the Heritage Foundation, had this to say, “Under Paul Dans’ leadership, Project 2025 has completed exactly what it set out to do: bringing together over 110 leading conservative organizations to create a unified conservative vision, motivated to devolve power from the unelected administrative state and return it to the people.” He praised the project as a tool to be used by any future administration. Gotta love a boss who backs his team!

The show must go on
Despite all the squabbles, Roberts announced that Paul Dans would be stepping down but moving “up to the front where the fight remains.” Quite the poetic way to say, “See ya, but not really.”
“When we began Project 2025 in April 2022, we set a timeline for the project to conclude its policy drafting after the two party conventions this year, and we are sticking to that timeline. Paul, who built the project from scratch and bravely led this endeavor over the past two years, will be departing the team and moving up to the front where the fight remains,” he continued.

“We are extremely grateful for his and everyone’s work on Project 2025 and dedication to saving America. Our collective efforts to build a personnel apparatus for policymakers of all levels – federal, state, and local – will continue,” he said.
Of course, Trump’s campaign was quick to pounce on the news. A spokesperson for the campaign said, “Reports of Project 2025’s demise would be greatly welcomed.”
They took the opportunity to reiterate that Project 2025 had nothing to do with the Trump campaign, adding a thinly veiled warning that anyone trying to misrepresent their influence with Trump can expect things to “not end well for you.” Classic Trumpian flair!

What’s next?
The political stage is as vibrant as ever, and we’re here for it. With Project 2025 making waves, the upcoming elections are bound to be one for the books. One can only imagine how this conservative blueprint will influence the next GOP administration if they win in 2024. Will Trump’s disdain for the project impact its future? Will Paul’s new role at the frontlines make a difference?
Only time will tell, but until then, let’s keep our popcorn handy and our eyes peeled. One thing’s for sure: the political drama isn’t going anywhere, and we wouldn’t miss it for the world!
