Iconic ‘Home Alone’ House Hits the Market for $5.25 Million — See Inside!

“It’s iconic, loaded with modern amenities, and in one of the best neighborhoods in the country,” Dawn McKenna of Coldwell Banker Realty says.

Home Alone fans can celebrate Christmas early!

The five-bedroom, six-bathroom home featured in the beloved 1990 film has hit the market at $5.25 million.

The Winnetka, Illinois, property was the center of the classic holiday movie, which found 8-year-old Kevin McCallister, played by Macaulay Culkin, mistakenly left home alone after his family went on Christmas vacation.

The listing is held by Kathryn Moor and Dawn McKenna of Coldwell Banker Realty.

McKenna tells PEOPLE that the property — which also has a fully equipped gym, state-of-the-art movie theater, an indoor sports court featuring a 3-point line, and a three-car attached heated garage — is a “rare legend that lives up to its hype in every way.”

“This home has it all. It’s iconic, loaded with modern amenities, and in one of the best neighborhoods in the country,” she says.

Originally built in 1921, the 9,126-square-foot property lies behind a wrought-iron gate on a tree-lined street and boasts a flowing floor plan.

Although renovated in 2018, the home’s foyer, entry staircase, and formal living and dining room spaces “remain largely unchanged in form and structure,” the listing states. Some of the newer add-ons include a family room with high ceilings and French doors that open to the backyard.

The kitchen has modern appliances, including an 8-burner Wolf range and an integrated Sub-Zero fridge. Away from the kitchen is a second family room, a screened-in porch with a wood-burning fireplace, and an expansive patio area overlooking the backyard. Future homeowners also have access to two upstairs and downstairs laundry rooms and a mudroom. Apart from having three family rooms, the second floor has a primary suite with a gas fireplace, a walk-in closet, and a marble spa bath featuring a gorgeous freestanding soaking tub, separate shower, and dual vanities.

The third floor, converted from the old attic, includes a junior primary suite and a full ensuite bath with a soaking tub.

“From the promise of movie nights and game days to holiday gatherings surrounded by loved ones, this magical family home truly transcends its architectural pedigree. It’s a chance to own a piece of cinematic history and create lasting memories within its iconic walls,” the listing adds.

According to Mansion Global, the nostalgic property previously belonged to Tim and Trisha Johnson, who purchased it in 2012 for $1.585 million before listing it on the market on Friday, May 24.

Speaking about some of their favorite memories, Trisha told the outlet, “Sometimes we’ll hear the Kevin scream. It’s a lot of fun to see people as excited as they are just to see my house.”
