Fans of “Wheel of Fortune” want Vanna White to take over as host, but it’s uncertain how long she’ll stay.

Wheel of Fortune presenter Pat Sajak, who has presided over the program since 1981, announced this week that he will step down in 2024 after the next season. For fans, it was the end of an era.

It isn’t easy to picture the show without Sajak because he’s been its face for four decades. Sajak still has another year left, but rumors regarding his successor started immediately.

Vanna White, a co-host and letter-turner since 1982, is the clear choice for many fans. Nevertheless, White’s future with the program is still in the air.

Sajak, 76, tweeted on Monday night that he was quitting acting. “I’ll have more to say in the upcoming months. It’s been a beautiful voyage. Thank you all very much,” he wrote.

Vanna White wished her co-star luck the next day in his impending retirement.

Who would have thought we’d still be doing [Wheel of Fortune] 41 seasons later when we first started? she asked in her essay. “I am beyond grateful to have performed on stage with you for all these years and for the upcoming year. Greetings to you, Patrick Sajak.”

When it was announced that Sajak was retiring, many fans immediately began to speculate about who would take over as host. and the majority rallied behind Vanna White’s cause.

She is undoubtedly the alternative with the greatest experience because, in addition to being a part of the program for almost as long as Pat Sajak, she filled in as host in 2019 while Sajak was recovering from surgery. Maggie, Pat’s child, replaced White as the letter spinner.

Despite the fact that White has a lot of support, she is not a lock. According to a source who spoke to Daily Mail, while White would leap at the chance to host, she also worries about being fired from the program in 2024.

Vanna wants to be a part of it all even when Jack goes, and she hopes they don’t force her out, a source close to White told the outlet on Tuesday. “The next year is going to be quite the ride,” the source added.

Even after Pat announced his retirement, Vanessa doesn’t want to stop watching Wheel of Fortune and would seriously consider taking over as host.

White’s contract expires in 2024, so it’s not yet obvious if Wheel will make her a full-time host or opt to bring in some fresh faces.

While Ryan Seacrest and Maggie Sajak are reportedly in the running, White appears to have the support of most of the audience. It’s unclear if Whoopi Goldberg, who also indicated an interest in the position, is genuinely being considered.

Whatever the future holds for Vanna White and Wheel of Fortune, fans are saying goodbye to TV’s longest-running game show host, marking the end of an era. White claimed last year that she was still in love with her job after 40 years in it despite the possibility of leaving the show or taking over as host without Sajak.

“I don’t want even to consider that. We work as a team, she said to People in December. “That makes me sad. I don’t want to consider it at all.

I have no idea. Wheel of Fortune is always associated with Pat and Vanna. You know, we’re like Ken and Barbie,” she remarked. Having someone else turn my letters would be strange since we have been in everyone’s homes for 40 years.

Vanna White is just as recognizable a part of Wheel of Fortune as Pat Sajak, so we’d love to see her take up hosting duties.
