‘American Pickers’ Frank Fritz: A Tale of Heartbreak and Hardship

Frank Fritz, best known as the host of “American Pickers,” has recently faced a series of challenges that have left him under guardianship, following a stroke and a turbulent breakup.

It all started with Fritz’s engagement to his longtime love, Diann Bankson. The couple had been together for years and had even purchased a farmhouse together in Iowa. However, their relationship took a turn for the worse when Bankson discovered Fritz with another woman.

In an exclusive interview with The Sun, Fritz revealed that he had been betrayed by Bankson and even got a tattoo to remind himself of her infidelity. The heartbreak led him down a dark path, turning to alcohol as a coping mechanism. But over time, Fritz found the strength to stop drinking and focus on healing.

Unfortunately, his personal troubles coincided with the loss of his job as the host of “American Pickers.” Despite recovering from back surgery, Fritz was not given a clear answer about his return to the show. The uncertainty, coupled with the news of Bankson moving on with another man, added to his already challenging situation.

Then, on July 4, 2022, Fritz suffered a stroke and was hospitalized. His health took a turn for the worse, leading to his placement under guardianship. A longtime friend became his guardian, while a bank oversaw his finances and care.

Under guardianship, Fritz’s guardian is responsible for making decisions on his behalf, including his living arrangements, health needs, and contact with loved ones. The court made it clear that this was necessary to ensure his safety and prevent any harm to himself.

While Fritz continues to receive treatment for his injuries, decisions must be made in his best interest. It’s a difficult chapter in his life, but with the support of his guardian and loved ones, he is on the path to recovery.
