Who received Whitney Houston’s whole fortune
Whitney Houston passed away unexpectedly in 2012, only a few hours before she was scheduled to perform on stage at the Grammy Awards. The official cause of death was determined to be unintentional drowning, which was ultimately brought on by a combination of long-term drug usage and heart problems.
According to USA Today, at the time of her passing, the value of her estate was somewhere in the neighborhood of $20 million. That was left to her daughter, Bobbi Kristina, according to the terms of her will, and it was distributed to her in a manner that took into account her age.
Bobbi Kristina was found nonetheless in the bathtub of her Georgia house, which she had inherited from her mother three years after the death of her mother. Bobbi Kristina’s mother had passed away three years before.
Six months later, she went away without regaining consciousness before her death. Cissy Houston, Whitney Houston’s mother, was named as the beneficiary of the remainder of the estate in Whitney Houston’s will.
However, in the event that Whitney Houston’s daughter passed away before having children, the will stipulated that the remainder of the estate would go to Cissy Houston.
Cissy Houston also asked that another member of the family serve as the estate’s executor. That was Whitney Houston’s sister-in-law, Pat Houston, speaking there.
And there is a lot that has to be taken care of. In 2022, Variety published an article stating that since her passing, the amount of her estate had increased by a factor of four.
This was attributed, in large part, to the collaborative efforts of her estate and her partner, Primary Wave Music. Adam Lowenberg, Chief Marketing Officer of Primary Wave, elaborated as follows:
“The ability to sing like Whitney Houston is without a doubt one of the most wonderful assets that one could possess… We aim to maintain an atmosphere that is as natural and authentic to Whitney as possible at all times.”
