When Liv Tyler’s biological father’s perplexing paternity became known, her entire world was rocked.

Liv Tyler’s bedtime ritual as a child included tucking in her stuffed animals and conversing with the Steven Tyler poster that hung over her headboard.

Although she was unaware that Tyler was her father, she still felt a strong connection to him. Around nine, Liv discovered some shocking information that would change her world.

With her variety and expressive performances, Liv Tyler has won viewers with her acting prowess, quickly bringing complicated characters to life on both the big screen and television.

The 45-year-old New Yorker made his film debut in the 1990s with leading roles in the Lord of the Rings Trilogy, 1988’s Armageddon, and 1996’s Stealing Beauty, which featured the smash song “I Don’t Want to Miss a Thing” by Aerosmith. She also appears in the music video for the song “Crazy” by Aerosmith, which also stars Alicia Silverstone from the Clueless movie.

However, the singer, model, and actor spent her youth trying to piece together the mysterious paternity of her father, whom she initially thought was singer-songwriter Todd Rundgren of the band Utopia.

Liv Tyler was born Liv Rundgren on July 1, 1977, at Mount Sinai Hospital in New York City. Living with Rundgren in their New York City apartment, her mother, Bebe Buell, Playboy’s Playmate of November 1974, was regularly left alone while he was on tour.

In an interview, Buell said that the rise of non-monogamy in the 1970s was to blame for her numerous affairs, saying, “I think every little girl would desire exclusivity, but that wasn’t how it was. If you had a jealous streak, the seventies weren’t your era. And I assumed if he (Rundgren) were going to date, I would date, too. Lovely boyfriends were mine.

Buell, a stereotypical groupie, dated artists such as Elvis Costello, Mick Jagger, David Bowie, Iggy Pop, Jimmy Page, and Steven Tyler, the lead singer for Aerosmith, whom she met while Rundgren was on the road.

It was 1976, and Buell received a souvenir from her brief relationship with Tyler.

Rundgren and Buell agreed that he would be Liv’s father and that “if it ever became an issue, we’d tell her at 18.” Liv Rundgren was born in July 1977, and although Rundgren was aware that she was probably Tyler’s child, he said they had struck a deal that he would be Liv’s father. To prevent exposing an impressionable young Liv to Tyler’s uncontrollable habits, it was decided to keep it a secret.

Rundgren gave her his last name, witnessed her birth, and raised her as his own.

I’m incredibly appreciative to Todd for deciding to be a father figure to me, Liv remarked of Rundgren. Saying, “I know this kid might not be mine, but I still want to be her father,” is a big deal for a man. He wasn’t with my mom, but he was always a steady, loving figure.

The Jersey Girl star spent a lot of time with her parent’s friends and was heavily involved in the music industry.

When she was around eight or nine, she saw Tyler during one of Rundgren’s concerts, and she claimed that he had purchased her a Shirley Temple at the bar. Even though she was unaware of his identity then, she felt something throughout that encounter.

Strangely enough, I didn’t realize my dad was my dad when I first met him, and I instantly fell in love with him. His poster is hanging on my wall. I would talk to him on the wall. He would also give me teddy animals, which I would put in the bed before climbing in. I did adore him,” Liv added. “I think Steven is my father,” I wrote in a diary entry or something, according to my mother.

The young Liv was beginning to understand the strange enigma.

She first encountered Mia, Tyler’s child, with Cyrinda Foxe, born one year after Liv, the star of Ed Astra, at an Aerosmith concert.

At a concert, Liv remarked, “I felt like I was looking at my twin when I saw her standing at the side of the stage.”

Buell and Rundgren had to be honest with Liv because of the uncanny resemblance to Tyler and Mia.

“It was a moment bigger than me, almost supernatural when I recognized that Steven was my father. When you meet the family, there is a sparkle and energy between your bodies. DNA and genes must be chemical in some way. Liv said in an interview with the Guardian, “I felt a connection in a really powerful manner when I first saw him as a little child, and I didn’t know why at first, but I found it out quite quickly.

“Steven and I have a striking resemblance in appearance and behavior. Getting to know his side of the family was enjoyable. It’s crazy how similar my sister Mia’s hand movements and mannerisms are.

Liv and her ex-husband Royston Langdon of the glam rock band Spacehog have a son named Milo William. Liv previously dated her Inventing the Abbotts co-star Joaquin Phoenix. She has been dating David Gardner since 2014, and the couple has two kids: a son named Sailor Gene and a daughter named Lula Rose.

The Goodwill Ambassador maintains tight relationships with both her fathers, describing them as “like unicorns or wizards.” Through and through, they are musicians. They think differently. In a way, their peculiarities have helped me become more realistic and normal.

Tyler and Mia were also present when Sailor was delivered six weeks early. “He walked into the room just before Sailor was born and cut his umbilical cord,” Liv recalled about Tyler. It was wild.”

Although she may not appear in big-budget movies as frequently as she once did, Liv Tyler is still very much involved in the acting industry. Her career has progressed steadily, and she has received accolades for her standout appearances on numerous television programs.

In recent years, she has also dedicated much time to her role as a mother. She has committed to putting her children’s needs ahead of her work and has vowed never to give her career more priority.

“I didn’t see how I could go away for three months to make a film and be the mother I wanted to be,” she says.

Having children has only strengthened and enriched her life. Like most parents, Liv has gained valuable self-knowledge and discovered new aspects of herself since becoming a mother.

She remarked, “My favorite thing about being a parent is that I learn so much from the push-and-pull dynamic of mother and child,” to More in 2020. Having kids taught me about my power.

Liv Tyler spent a significant amount of time living in her beloved New York City and had a close relationship with the dynamic spirit of the West Village. She lived in the Manhattan area for 20 years until selling her home in 2019.

The New York Times reports that Liv acquired a townhouse in London and moved across the ocean. Liv has recently broadened her horizons by settling in Malibu, California.

Liv Tyler has received praise and respect from her coworkers and fans for being described as kind, sincere, and approachable.
