In a recent Instagram post, Vera Wang, known for her timeless elegance, dazzled her fans with new poolside pictures. One enthusiastic fan commented, “U r aging backward sis!” Another follower was equally astonished, saying, “You can’t be 70,” while someone humorously noted, “HOW is it possible you look like this. I need to put down the slice of pizza immediately.”

Recently, Vera shared her thoughts about aging gracefully on actress Julia Louis-Dreyfus’s podcast, Wiser Than Me. “I dye my hair, I’m [about to be] 75 years old,” she confided to Julia. She humorously added, “I would look like a bad skunk,” showing her lighthearted approach to aging.
Having designed luxurious wedding gowns for celebrities like Victoria Beckham, Kim Kardashian, and Selena Gomez, Vera is a pinnacle in the fashion industry. Despite her fame and recognition, her personal wish remains heartfelt. She hopes to witness the weddings of her two daughters, Cecilia, 33, and Josephine, 30.
“I’m hoping I get the wedding before I die, both weddings. I certainly hope I’m alive and well and can do it,” she shared during the podcast.
In a past interview with BBC 100 Women, Vera revealed that she never obsessed over maintaining her youth. “I’ve been in fashion since I was 19 years old. Not in front of the camera, behind it,” she said. “I never thought about youth, probably because I work with the most beautiful women in the world on a daily basis. And because of that, I more envision them as my muses, and maybe it’s a way of dealing with aging that is productive.”
As she approaches her 75th birthday on June 27, Vera remains vibrant and full of life. She believes that work is part of her “magic elixir” for preserving her youthful appearance.
“I always said that: vodka cocktail, a lot of sleep, [and] work – work is the magic elixir,” she shared with a chuckle. She also revealed her dislike for spending time in the sun, a detail she shared last year with Elle. “I avoid the sun,” she said, emphasizing her care routine that focuses on indoor activities.
“I’m very flattered that people think I’ve aged well, but it was never my goal. I drink vodka, I sleep, I avoid the sun. But I like to work. I don’t want to be pigeonholed,” she explained.
With her 75th birthday just around the corner, Vera plans to celebrate with a delicious dessert. “We’re cake people, as you can tell,” she mentioned with a smile to People in April. “Birthday plans are up in the air. I mean 75 is a lot of pressure,” she added, keeping the specifics of her celebration a surprise.
