Valerie Bertinelli talks about her personal struggles

Valerie Bertinelli has been married three times. Her first husband was Eddie Van Halen, the lead singer of the rock band Van Halen. Together they had a son, Wolfgang, who was born in 2007 before they split. Tom Vitale, a financial planner, was Bertinelli’s second husband and they married in 2011.

There are no children between the pair. Businessman John Passaro is Bertinelli’s husband at the moment. Stella, the couple’s daughter, was born in 2015 after they tied the knot.

When Bertinelli recently appeared on the Today show, she talked about whether or not she plans to rekindle her relationship with Tom Vitale. After filing for divorce, Vitale, 58, requested spousal assistance from the celebrity couple. But according to her, she is enjoying her newfound freedom as a single woman.

“I have some trust issues,” she said. “I am gonna be more than happy to be happily divorced and spend the rest of my life alone.”

Former lead guitarist Eddie Van Halen was her ex-husband from 1981 through 2007. Then from 2011 to 2021, she was married to Vitale after her first marriage was officially annulled.

Bertinelli ultimately filed for divorce from Vitale citing ‘irreconcilable issues’ in their marriage. She also admitted that she had no idea she’d end up divorced twice.

During a podcast interview with Arianne Zucker, she revealed her divorce from her second husband after 11 years of marriage. She said, “I am gonna be more happy to be happily divorced and spend the rest of my life alone.”

Despite her lack of interest in getting married again, she does not feel completely alone. Having “six cats and my dog and my son, and hopefully one day grandchildren.” She is content.

And when the actress was asked if she would ever look for love again, she said, “Oh God, no.” She “can’t imagine ever allowing anyone access to her life again.”

Following her divorce from Van Halen, she and David began a deep connection that would last until his death in 2020. The actress recounted how she dealt with his passing and how ‘love’ was the most helpful to her.

She said, “Love always wins no matter what, even when they’re gone. There’s still that love there to be grateful for that you had.”

Valerie Bertinelli has been in the public spotlight for more than 35 years as an actress, author, and spokeswoman. She was born on April 23, 1960, in Wilmington, Delaware, to parents who were also in the industry.

Her mother was an actress and her father was a director of television. Bertinelli, as a result, was exposed to the entertainment industry at a young age.

In an episode of “The Love Boat,” Bertinelli made her acting debut when she was just 11 years old. It wasn’t long before she appeared on “One Day at a Time”,” Cheers, and “Touched by an Angel” as a guest star.

Bertinelli has a multifaceted career as an actress, novelist, and public speaker. She’s the author of two cookbooks and the face of the Jenny Craig diet program.

Up to this day, Bertinelli is an advocate for a variety of causes that she strongly supports. She is an animal rights activist who has spoken out against the fashion industry’s usage of fur.
