The beloved actress made the heartbreaking announcement

In a candid conversation on mortality, Jane Fonda stated that she won’t “be around for much longer.”

The 84-year-old revealed in September that she had been given a Non-Hodgkin lymphoma diagnosis and has since stated that she is “not terrified” of the afterlife while expressing how crucial it is for public figures to speak out about pressing issues that they are passionate about.

I won’t be around for very long, she said to Entertainment Tonight.

“When you reach my age, you better realize how much time has passed since you were younger rather than the quantity that is ahead of you. That’s just reasonable, in my opinion.

I’m prepared, the A-lister continued. My life has been wonderful. Even though I don’t want to leave, I know the time will come sooner rather than later.

In September, Fonda announced on Instagram that she had been diagnosed with Non-Hodgkin lymphoma and acknowledged her privilege in having “access to the greatest physicians and treatments.”

So, my dear friends, I have something personal I want to share, the Grace And Frankie star wrote. After receiving a non-lymphoma Hodgkin’s diagnosis, I’ve begun chemotherapy.

“This malignancy is extremely curable. I consider myself incredibly lucky because 80% of people survive.

“I’m fortunate to have access to the top medical professionals and therapies because to my health insurance. I am aware of my privilege in this, and it hurts.

“Almost every family in America has dealt with cancer at some point, and it is wrong that too many people lack access to the kind of high-quality medical treatment I do.”

“We also need to talk a lot more about causes so we can get rid of them, not simply about remedies,” she continued. For instance, people must be aware that cancer is brought on by fossil fuels. Likewise, insecticides, many of which are derived from fossil fuels like mine, do.

“Believe me, I won’t let any of this stop me from becoming an activist for the environment.

“Cancer is a teacher, and I’m heeding the lessons it has in store for me. It has already taught me the value of community, for example. fostering a deeper sense of community to ensure that we are not alone.

And the disease, together with the fact that I’m getting close to 85, clearly emphasizes the value of adjusting to new circumstances.

You can rely on me to stand by your side as we expand our army of climate advocates since the midterm elections are rapidly approaching and are of the utmost importance.

In her illustrious Hollywood career, Fonda has taken home seven Golden Globes, two Baftas, and two Academy Awards.

Klute from 1971, Monster Law (2005) with Jennifer Lopez, Coming Home from 1978, and most recently, Grace and Frankie with Lily Tomlin from Netflix.

She is known for her activism just as much as for her acting career, and earlier this year she established a unique political action committee called the Jane Fonda Political Action Committee with the goal of unseating representatives who support the continued use of fossil fuels.
