Shaquille O’Neal Assures Fans That There Is ‘No Reason to Fear’ Following Hip Surgery: ‘I’ve Just Got Some BBL Work’

After having hip surgery, Shaquille O’Neal was in terrific spirits.

A day after posting a selfie of himself in a hospital bed with an IV linked to his arm on social media, the former NBA great, 51, assured followers that he was alright.

O’Neal took to Twitter to share a hilarious flashback video of himself in a Lakers jersey, his buttocks on full display. The video was modified to display a distorted view of his backside while a remix of Adele’s “Hello” played over it.

“To everyone scared and concerned. First and foremost, let me thank you,” stated the NBA on TNT co-host before adding, “Last but not least, no need to worry, just had to get some BBL WORK AKA #hipreplacement. Thank you, and I love you all. But don’t be concerned; I’m alright.”

According to the American Board of Cosmetic Surgery, a BBL is a Brazilian butt lift that transfers fat from the hips, belly, lower back, and thighs into the buttocks.

Several followers were alarmed when the athlete uploaded the hospital photo on Sunday.

In the shot, he tagged two of his TNT co-hosts, Candace Parker and Ernie Johnson, and informed them he’s “always watching” them, even while in the hospital.

“Miss y’all,” O’Neal added.

a little more than a year ago, he was a little more than a year ago, and a little more than a year ago, too. He had already shed 40 pounds at the time, he told Entertainment Tonight.

“I shed 40 pounds,” claimed O’Neal. “I still need to shed around 20 pounds, but this is impressive. I will get chiseled and do an underwear commercial with my sons.”

The ex-wife of Shaunie O’Neal, the former Lakers star, shares sons Shareef and Shaqir and daughters Amirah and Me’arah with his ex-wife Shaunie O’Neal. He also has a stepson, Myles, from Shaunie’s prior relationship, and a daughter, Taahirah, from his previous relationship with Arnetta Yardbourgh.

O’Neal told ET he received blood work results that drove him to a healthier diet.

He claimed that he didn’t pay close attention to what he ate because he was an athlete. He now takes supplements and drinks shakes in addition to his diet (he’s working on eliminating bread and soda).

“The weight simply slipped off. I’m not quite in ninja mode yet. I’m still 75 percent, “O’Neal revealed to Entertainment Tonight.

O’Neal encouraged anyone looking to improve their health to walk for at least 30 minutes daily.

His objective? “I think I could pull off the Marky Wahlberg look,” he admitted. “I want to be known as the Black Mark Wahlberg.”
