After seeing fans’ outpouring of sorrow and concern, the 40-year-old actor’s wife decided to stop the conjecture and inquiries on social media. The statement was accompanied by a photo of her and Gere walking hand in hand with their child.

She added a caption to the picture. “I woke up this morning to the news and all your nice and [worried] remarks,” she captioned the photo. “He’s doing much better today,” to paraphrase. He’s recovering.”

Silva has previously detailed the sickness that had impacted his entire family on social media.
