Remember this star child?

Haley Joel Osment made his breakthrough as the little child in “The Sixth Sense” in 1999. He played the young boy in the thriller opposite Bruce Willis who could “see dead people” when he was just 11 years old.

Osment is now an adult.

So what has this budding actor—whose debut appearance was in “Forrest Gump”—been doing for the past eight to ten years?

Following “Sixth Sense,” Osment starred with Jude Law, one of the biggest performers in the world at the time, in the 2001 film “A.I. Artificial Intelligence,” which featured his endearing youthful features.

After then, he started to work more and more as a voice actor for video games like “Kingdom Hearts” and appeared in “The Country Bears,” “The Jungle Book 2,” and other projects.

Osment has grown tired of the attention he received as a child star, despite his early success, claiming that it “burns an image into people’s heads,” according to the Calgary Herald.

“It takes some time after you grow up as a child before people start to link you with things other than what you were first known for. It’s a struggle, but I’ve recently had the good fortune to work on a lot of projects that are all over the place “During an interview with the newspaper this week, he remarked.

Osment, who plays a young heroin addict, made a fleeting Broadway debut in 2008’s “American Buffalo” in light of this.

He returned to the big screen two years later in 2010’s “Montana Amazon,” starring Alison Brie from “Community” and “Mad Men.” In the movie, Osmet, who is now in his twenties, comes from a family who lived in the woods while growing up and must learn to adapt to contemporary life.

The young actor, meantime, earned his degree from NYU’s Tisch School of the Arts in 2011. Osment revived the tension in “I’ll Follow You Down” in 2013, costarring with “X-Files” actress Gillian Anderson in a story about a young scientist who goes missing.

With films like “Tusk,” “Sex Ed,” the “Entourage” movie, and “Yoga Hosers” all coming either this year or the following, Osment has now truly come into his own.

Hollywood has a peculiar knack of making it appear as though time is unmoving. Little Osment comes to mind when you think of the movie The Sixth Sense. But pause for a moment and remember that movie was released in 1999, which is almost ten years ago.

Although the film will always be relevant, the characters have aged. Unfortunately, everyone’s time continues to advance. Consider this. When that movie first aired, how old were you? Exactly!

Pictures and movies can capture time, but they just give us a glimpse of how it once was. Even if you’re watching a movie, time is still passing.

Osment appeared in the popular movie at the age of 11. He is no longer a little boy because he is 29 years old. Most likely, you wouldn’t even know him if you ran into him in the supermarket. Although he has matured, he still has those endearing eyes. He now occasionally sports a mustache, and he has put on a lot of weight.
