Norman Lear, the legendary television producer, turns 101 years old and offers some advice.
Norman Lear is the creator of numerous television blockbusters, including All in the Family, Good Times, and One Day at a Time. The iconic producer recently celebrated his 101st birthday with a video for his admirers.
Norman Lear wanted to prepare a video for his well-wishers to celebrate his 101st birthday. He made a joke about his “second childhood” in the video, which garnered a lot of laughs.
He introduces himself in the video, saying, “Norman Lear here, dribbling a bit because he’s entering his second childhood.” “I’ve just turned 101, and they say that’s my second childhood,” he continued. In terms of the care I am receiving, it appears to be so. I get the kind of care that I see youngsters getting at this age.”
“And so, I am now a 101-year-old toddler, and I am thinking about two little words that we don’t think about often enough: over and next,” the seasoned producer concluded. When something is finished, it is finished, and we have the pleasure and privilege of moving on to the next [thing]. And putting a hammock between those two terms is the finest method I know of defining living in the moment.”
“I am living in that moment right now, with all of you,” the four-time Emmy winner continued. “May God bless you all and our country.”
The comment section rapidly filled up with birthday greetings for the acclaimed living Hollywood star. On his birthday, John Mayer, Alyssa Milano, Marisa Tomei, Tom Bergeron, and others wished him well.
Judd Apatow, another producer, also wished him on Instagram, posting some cute photos and commenting, “Happy 101st Birthday Norman Lear from the people who love you— which is everyone!” As a young guy, your wit and kindness shaped my mind. As an adult, I consider myself extremely fortunate to have you as a buddy.”
Jimmy Kimmel turned to Twitter and published a photo of Lear, writing, “Happy second century to my hero and friend @TheNormanLear – to celebrate number 101, I had a freeway named after you.”
Norman Lear is a well-known producer. He was born in Connecticut in 1922. He then served in World War II and was a veteran before embarking on his great Hollywood career. Sanford and Son, Mary Hartman, Maude, All in the Family, Good Times, One Day at a Time, The Jeffersons, and The Facts of Life are just a few of Lear’s great TV hits.
