Len Goodman, a judge on “Dancing with the Stars,” passed away at 78.

Len Goodman, a long-time judge on Strictly Come Dancing and Dancing with the Stars, has passed away. He was 78.

Jackie Gill, his agent, stated that Goodman “passed away peacefully” on Saturday evening.

“Len passed away on Saturday night in a hospice in Kent, accompanied by his family. His bones have malignancy. He was a “true gentleman” and maintained his sense of humor despite his sickness, according to a statement released by his manager on Monday, as reported by Good Morning America.

Goodman left his position as the top judge of DWTS in November 2022 after serving for 31 seasons.

“I’ve been with the show since it started in 2005, and it has been a huge pleasure to be a part of such a wonderful show,” he remarked.

In addition, he expressed excitement about having more time to spend with his family “back in Britain.”

It is widely acknowledged that the former professional ballroom dancer and British champion rekindled interest in the sport on both sides of the Atlantic.

Before going to the US version of Strictly Come Dancing, DWTS, where he served as a head judge until his retirement in November 2022, he appeared as the top judge on the show for 12 seasons after it made its BBC debut in 2004.

Many people associated with each dancing competition expressed their sincere sympathies after learning of his passing.

Goodman was called “A Dancer” by fellow judge Carrie Ann Inaba. a professor. a gentlemanly man. an excellent storyteller. a unique soul. a guide. guy of the home. And… a dear friend.

“It crushed my heart to say farewell at the end of the previous season. But the news from today has destroyed it. I can’t believe you’re gone, she wrote in the title of an Instagram video montage.

Kym Johnson-Herjavec, a professional dancer who performed on the show from 2006 to 2015, likewise expressed her sorrow over the passing of a “class act.”

“10 paddles and mirror balls have been placed on the heavens’ gates today. Receiving a ten from Len made you feel better than anything. He was a gentleman with a sly grin and a sharp mind. You are sorely missed. Len, please rest in peace.

DWTS‘ former host Tom Bergeron shared a short but sweet tribute to Goodman.

“A Good Man, indeed.”

BBC director-general Tim Davie described Goodman as “a wonderful, warm entertainer adored by millions. He was likable and made people of all ages feel like he belonged in their families. Len was the driving force behind Strictly’s success. He will be hugely missed by the public and his many friends and family.”

Len, have peace. You were the real deal. Thanks for all the memories.
