Most celebrity marriages are short-lived, so hearing about celebrities who have been married for years and are still going strong leaves us wondering. One such union is that of Kevin Bacon and their wife, Kyra Sedgwick, both well-known stars in the film industry.

Bacon and Sedgwick met for the first time when she was 12 years old. According to her, she and her brother met after seeing a film in which Bacon was featured. Of course, she was far too young at the time and didn’t think much of it.

Their paths crossed again ten years later when working on the film Lemon Sky, but it didn’t look like they would end up together because, according to Sedgwick, she didn’t think him attractive. On the other hand, he was completely enamored with her from the start.

“He wasn’t my style,” the actress admitted to Wide Open Country. I recall glancing at his butt when he walked away after our first meeting and thought, “Well, I guess some girls like that.”

They did, however, eventually begin dating and married in 1988. The couple’s two children are Travis Sedgwick Bacon, a solo musician, and daughter Sosie Ruth, following in her parent’s footsteps and seeking a career in the film industry. She is best recognized for her role as Skye Miller in Netflix’s teen drama 13 Reasons Why.

Bacon and Sedgwick have been married for 34 years, yet they are still as in love as they were on the first day. The Mystic River actor takes every opportunity to tell his wife how much he adores her. “I’m not sure how he does it, but he always makes me feel like the most gorgeous lady in the room – the only girl,” Kyra explained to People.

When asked about the secret to a long and happy marriage, Bacon told Entertainment Weekly, “Whatever you do, don’t listen to celebrities on how to stay married.” Their love and respect for one another undoubtedly make their relationship so strong.

“He is a man of integrity. He is so morally upright. He has strong moral standards, doesn’t lie or cheat, and I find it sexy!” Sedgwick revealed this to Good Housekeeping in 2012. “I am continuously impressed by Kevin’s calmness and lack of ‘crazy.'”

During an appearance on the American television show “Finding Your Roots,” the couple discovered they were ninth cousins, but this did not affect their relationship. According to Kyra, she did feel uneasy, but that was good because, while they appeared to be cousins, they were distant cousins.

After researching Kevin’s family history, the team discovered that his 22nd great-grandfather was King Edward I, who battled William Wallace. Kevin joked that his ancestors didn’t get enough attention and that it’s fine if they’re not first cousins.

Bacon and Sedgwick are spending most of their time at home due to the growing pandemic. She stated she was doing some writing and revealed that the two “are viewing a lot of material and we’re reading. We are still reading. I’m still reading. I’m attempting to incorporate it into my work regularly.”

One thing is certain: these two are one of Hollywood’s cutest couples. Don’t you think so?
