Jennifer Lopez is in mourning.

Following Stephen “tWitch” Boss’s untimely passing, celebrities from all around Hollywood have expressed their condolences. He committed suicide when he was 40 years old.

Allison Holker Boss, the former Ellen DeGeneres Show DJ’s wife, confirmed the news on Wednesday in a poignant statement.

“I had to notify my spouse Stephen has left us with the hardest of hearts,” Allison, 34, said of her husband. “Stephen brought brightness into every room he entered.” Above all, he valued his family, friends, and community.

He thought leading with love and light was the best way. He was our family’s rock, the best husband and father, and an example to all who knew him.

It would be an understatement to say he left a legacy, and his positive influence will live on. I’m convinced there will never be a day when we don’t remember him.”

As word of the So You Think You Can Dance judge’s passing spread, Hollywood’s A-listers shared their sorrow.

The show’s creator and judge, Nigel Lythgoe, said he was “heartbroken and grieved,” that he was “at a loss to understand how someone as adored and inspirational to so many people as Stephen was would feel they are in such a low place that they have no alternative but to take their own life.”

“It’s inexplicable to me with Twitch,” he said “He was always upbeat and cheery. He was admired by everyone he met. It will be a sad day for the dance community, but my thoughts and prayers go out to his wife, Allison, and their children.

It is critical to acknowledge that mental illness is a serious condition that frequently goes unnoticed by our loved ones. While this is a joyful time of year for many of us, tension and negative emotions appear to be at an all-time high in other people.”

A fellow SYTYCD alum, Tiffany Maher told PEOPLE, “My heart has been shattered. Stephen “Twitch” was a good example. He was friendly and motivating. I’m glad I got to meet him. He will be remembered and missed for the rest of his life. Allison and her children are on our minds and in our prayers.”

“We will never forget Stephen “tWitch” Boss because of the happiness and joy he brought into our lives and so many others,” Fox Entertainment, 19 Entertainment, and Dick Clark Productions told PEOPLE. “We mourn with his family, loved ones, and fans at the death of such a great, undeniable talent and close friend.”

Dr. Tommie Tonea Stewart, Boss’ mentor, also sent a statement of condolences to PEOPLE “Today, a talented man with a lovely heart and a plethora of friends and lovers who adored him passed away. Everybody who encountered Stephen was immediately charmed by his infectious and genuine smile. Notwithstanding our regret at Stephen’s passing, we will remember him for his contributions to the arts and in our hearts.”

On social media, condolences flooded through, and Ellen DeGeneres responded with a sweet message and a photo of the couple hugging.

“I’m devastated. She wrote on Instagram, “tWitch was pure light and love.” “I simply wanted to give him love since he was my family; he will be much missed; please send your love and support to Allison and his three beautiful children, Weslie, Maddox, and Zaia.”

Michelle Obama, the former First Lady of the United States, uploaded an Instagram photo of Boss’s family with the message, “I was heartbroken to learn of the passing of Stephen ‘tWitch’ Boss, who I got to know over the years through my Let’s Move! Campaign and trips to The Ellen Show.”

“Stephen was a dynamic person who ensured that everyone in his presence felt the compassion and happiness he emanated, and every dance, DJ set, and creative project he created was alive with his spirit,” she continued. “My heartfelt condolences go out to his wife, Allison, and their three children, Weslie, Maddox, and Zaia.” Someone is always willing to assist.
